Q. What type of surfaces can be refinished?
A. Refinishing can be done to fiberglass shower tubs and walls, porcelain tubs and tile walls.

Q. When should a surface be refinished
A. Shower and tub areas should be refinished when the surface no longer shines or has damage. The finish on fiberglass will wear off over time leading the unit to yellow and/or making it difficult to cleaning.

Q. What type of damage can be fixed?
A. Small holes and chips can be repaired and filled before the refinishing process, resulting in a smooth surface. Small stress cracks in fiberglass are common and can be fixed during the refinishing process.

Q. How long does it take to refinish an installation?
A. A typical shower tub or sink can be refinished in 3-7 hours.

Q. How is the refinishing process done?
A. The area to be refinished is cleaned and etched, and then if any damage is present it is repaired. Next the area being refinished is masked off and isolated. Then 2 coats of a primer are applied and allowed to cure for 30 minutes. Then 3 top coats of glaze are applied resulting in a very durable high gloss finish. An air evacuator is used during the refinishing process but a mild chemical smell might linger a few hours after being refinished.

Q. How long does a newly refinished surface take to dry?
A. Areas that have been refinished require a full 72-hour cure period before they can be used.

Q. What kind of care is needed to maintain a new surface?
A. Any cleaner or scour pad that is abrasive should not be used. Cleaners that specify they are safe for fiberglass or acrylic surfaces such as scrubbing bubbles and gel gloss are recommended.
Q. What is the Warranty on refinishing?
A. We guarantee all of our work for two years against defects in materials and craftsmanship. Life span can range from 10 years up.
